Campaign of the Month: July 2011
Sins of the First Age
Space Architecting Vision
Cost: —; Mins: Lore 5, Essence 5; Type: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: Wyld Cauldron Technology
The essence flow of even common spaces is pure chaos to the eyes of the untutored. To the master architect however, it is an elegant tapestry. The architect and geomancer knows the balance of space, the form and scale which allow a structure to stand and flow and be useful.
This Charm enhances the character’s Wyld-Shaping Technique, altering the list of things he is able to create, and the costs and difficulties involved in creating them.
At no additional cost or difficulty, the Solar may include any type of mundane architecture in the spaces he shapes. The features and aesthetics of a space so equipped are entirely at his discretion – though of course his shaping magic can do nothing to help a useless design once it is put to use. The Solar’s creations are not limited to buildings, and may include artwork, amenities, and infrastructure such as sewers, plumbing, roads, and bridges with all their trappings.
Manses: The Solar may use shaping techniques to execute the construction of a manse which he has planned in advance. Constructing a manse in this way requires a Craft rating equal to twice the manse’s rating, and total shaping successes equal to fifteen times the manse’s rating. Without a prepared plan, a natural manse can be created, as described in Raise the Puissant Sanctum (White Treatise, Page 79) with the same costs and requirements. This process cannot be accelerated by any other effect.
When invoking Wyld-Shaping Technique to create Manses, the Solar rolls (Intelligence + Craft) rather than the usual (Intelligence + Lore) roll. Purchasing this charm explicitly allows Wyld-Shaping Technique to be combined with Craft excellencies which may be invoked to enhance the roll itself, and to enhance the Solar’s rating in Craft for purposes of meeting the requirements described above, in keeping with the rules for improving static values.
